Professor Tim Baker MBE recently started a new job as Director of Business Performance at Red Bull Powertrains and will be standing down from his position as Chair of the Design Challenge Steering Committee. On behalf of the IMechE, we would like to thank Tim for his contribution and his commitment to driving the Challenge forwards to support the development of the next generation of professional engineers.

We are now accepting applications for a new Chair of the Design Challenge Steering Committee. The Chair is responsible for leading the Design Challenge with the support of the Steering Committee, ensuring that the Challenge objectives, aims and terms of reference are in line with Institution’s strategic objectives, values and policy priorities. In terms of time commitment, it is expected that the Chair will attend quarterly online Steering Group meetings, attend Regional and National Finals events and represent the Design Challenge at other ad-hoc Institution meetings and events.
